Why should your child learn coding?
Coding classes allow your child to experience technology as a problem solver. It today's world children are exposed to digital devices as early as 1 year old. This early access to digital devices normalizes them to experience technology as a tool of entertainment making them consumers.
However once your child uses the same devices to code tech solutions they learn to see it as a place where they can become problem solvers or inventors or manufacturers of tech solutions.
At Africanstemgirl we train kids and teens aged 7 - 17 years coding through a blended learning approach where we learn by building tech projects.
Our classes are held online or physically in our training center. Each coding class is conducted for 2 hours per class.
Which projects do we train your child to build?
- Building A Chat Web App or A Calculator using HTML, CSS & JavaScript.
- Building A payment system using python(django) and pesapal APIs where users can pay via bank or M-Pesa.
- Building a social media platform where users can like images, upload images, comment, login, logout, or registering.
How do we group students and what do we train each group of students?
We group students based on their level of exposure to coding.
Beginner Coding Classes for Kids and Teens
These classes are for students who are yet to be exposed to any coding skills. The student is trained to build 2 projects where each project is built in 10 classes. In the beginner coding classes a student is trained to build using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. In the beginner coding classes for kids and teens we build a calculator or a simple chat app.
Intermediate Coding Classes for Kids and Teens
These classes are for students who have been exposed to coding. The student are trained to build an e-commerce website using 2 programming languages i.e Python(Django) and Next.js. The total number of classes needed to build this project are 20 classes.
Advanced Coding Classes for Kids and Teens
These classes are for students who have been exposed to coding. The student are trained to build a social media application using 2 programming languages i.e Python(Django) and Next.js. The total number of classes needed to build this project are 20 classes.
How much are our coding classes for kids and teens?
Beginner Classes are Kes.10,000 for 10 classes
Intermediate Classes are Kes.15,000 for 10 classes
Advanced Classes are Kes.15,000 for 10 classes
What are the class timings of our coding classes for kids and teens?
Beginner Classes are held from 9:00 a.m - 11:00 a.m
Intermediate Classes are held from 11:15 a.m - 1:15 p.m
Advanced Classes are held from 1:30 p.m - 3:30 p.m
100toTech
Our 100toTech program allows us to train students from low income households or communities coding by charging them Kes.100 per class.
