Why should your child learn cybersecurity?
Our children are online from as early as the age of 1 years while we do this innocently the truth is that online predators, bullies and hackers are online as well.
Let's have a look at the daily number of daily active users common online platforms have:-
- Roblox has approximately 97.8 million daily users.
- Instagram has approximately 2.1 billion daily users.
- TikTok has approximately 1.8 billion daily users.
- YouTube has approximately 2.5 billion daily users.
At Africanstemgirl we train kids and teens aged 7 - 17 years cybersecurity so they can be aware of the dangers they will and can face online. In our cybersecurity class your child will also learn how to defend themselves and others.
Our classes are held online or physically in our training center. Each cybersecurity class is conducted for 2 hours per class.
How do we train cybersecurity to kids & teens
- We introduce them to what cybersecurity is and the different types of cyber attacks.
- We introduce them to write commands in the linux terminal.
- We train them how to detect and prevent cyber attacks.
How do we group students and what do we train each group of students?
We group students based on their level of exposure to cybersecurity.
Beginner Cybersecurity Classes for Kids and Teens
These classes are for students who are yet to be exposed to any cybersecurity skills. The students are trained on what cybersecurity is, the different types of hackers and cyber attacks. We recommend a minimum of 10 classes.
Intermediate Cybersecurity Classes for Kids and Teens
These classes are for students who have been exposed to cybersecurity. The student will learn what offensive and defensive security and the tools used in each security approach. We recommend a minimum of 20 classes.
Advanced Cybersecurity Classes for Kids and Teens
These classes are for students who have been exposed to cybersecurity. The student will learn how to explore network and web attacks, how to monitor endpoints for threats, how to utilise SIEM to handle incidents. We recommend a minimum of 20 classes.
How much are our cybersecurity classes for kids and teens?
Beginner Classes are Kes.10,000 for 10 classes
Intermediate Classes are Kes.15,000 for 10 classes
Advanced Classes are Kes.15,000 for 10 classes
What are the class timings of our cybersecurity classes for kids and teens?
Beginner Classes are held from 9:00 a.m - 11:00 a.m
Intermediate Classes are held from 11:15 a.m - 1:15 p.m
Advanced Classes are held from 1:30 p.m - 3:30 p.m
100toTech
Our 100toTech program allows us to train students from low income households or communities cybersecurity by charging them Kes.100 per class.
